Luxi Karya Bow is a perfect choice to celebrate the light of life, when you’re looking to say goodbye to someone dearly missed in a sophisticated way.

  • The design is generally based on a (rotated) bow shape for its symmetry, and while the whole bow is referenced in the finial, the urn only constitutes half of it, with the other half missing or invisible.
  • According to a 3rd-century AD work by Athenaeus of Naucratis (‘The Dinner Sophists’ or Deipnosophistae of Athenaeus), Karya was one the eight hamadryads – tree nymphs – that associated with walnut (likely because there once was a Karya of Laconia, whom Dionysus changed into a walnut tree after their fairly unfortunate love affair). Hamadryads were believed to be an integral part of their tree and so to die with it in due course.
