About us
"And although nothing much can be seen through the mist, there is somehow the blissful feeling that one is looking in the right direction" - Nabokov
What 'luxi' means
The word ‘luxi’ is the third form shared by two different Latin verbs: one meaning ‘to shine’ (luceo or lucesco), the other meaning ‘to mourn’ (lugeo).
We chose it because we think it captures fully and elegantly all of the complexity related to the intertwined topics of life, death and funerals, as well as it embraces how we think about our own role in supporting people in their planning for the last journey, which we see as a unique opportunity to celebrate the light of life.
About Luxi logo
When creating the logo for Luxi Urns, we built on the icon designed for Polart Creative (the brand owner). Doing it literally followed naturally from our metaphorical approach as we wanted to apply the same idea of bringing beauty to the world in response to, and as a mean of addressing, the deep need to celebrate the light of life, even in (or especially in) the darkest hour. So, the Polart Creative icon (see below) was confronted with its own shadow, as to represent two important things. Firstly, the constant presence in our loving memory of those we’ve lost in life, secondly, the constant struggle and the inevitable need to face death – both of those we loved and respected, as well as our own.
Polart logo symbolism
The Polart Creative logo story starts with Christopher’s admiration for a 15th century piece by Sandro Botticelli, The Birth of Venus.
In particular, we want to be looking at the left side of the picture, where we see two winged deities, identified as Zephyros – the bringer of spring (the west wind) and most likely Aura – personified light breeze. Their joint effort in blowing at Venus, the symbol of beauty, is pictured with fine lines of air.
The hexagon in our logo represents the masculine effort in creation – strong and bold, while the circle, pictured lighter, as in Botticelli’s painting, represents the feminine side of the same effort – perhaps less visible, less obvious, but not less essential. The blowing breaths, which metaphorically bring beauty to the shore of our world, is represented in the logo with a golden arrow.
What we do
Why Luxi Urns?
We understand the emotional weight carried by the families you serve. Loss is deeply personal, and the objects chosen to honour a life should reflect dignity, refinement, and lasting value. As a professional partner, you deserve products that uphold those same standards without compromise.
Our thoughtfully designed collections are created to offer a distinctive alternative to mass-produced, impersonal options. Each piece is meticulously handcrafted, combining timeless elegance with great finishing. The result is a refined offering that elevates your portfolio and supports you in delivering meaningful, high-quality choices to your clients.
Each of our designs is officially registered and protected by law. We rigorously defend our work against imitation and unfair competition, ensuring that our clients benefit from original, high-quality creations that are not only distinctive, but legally secured. For our B2B partners, this means investing in distinctive, defensible products that preserve exclusivity and sustain long-term market value.
By partnering with us, you offer families something truly special, while strengthening your own brand with products that are refined, protected, and built to last.

Behind the scenes
About me

Krzysztof (Chris) Dawcewicz
Founder
People say that I’m an independent thinker, that’s how I got myself a second full-time job of a trusted advisor to a close circle of family and friends when it comes to important matters, where the path forward is unclear.
Personally, I think of myself as a connoisseur of beauty. I value integrity, reliability and a so-called job well done. I’m starting my business in Poland, but I’ve been around for a while already and I got to know the world a bit. As a Polish-British citizen, I’ve done a fair amount of travelling, working in various professions, countries/ cities and with multiple nationalities. This lifestyle by choice demands that I constantly search for that which works, that I continuously adapt to ever changing circumstances, people, requirements and situations. I’ve not been born with them, but I have developed some useful capabilities: a flexible approach, attentiveness and active listening.
I like meeting people in person, putting in the time and attention required, because I am convinced that good working relationships and effective co-operation cannot be built on unsteady foundations and taking advantage of one another.
