Handmade of naturally light Maple wood, the urn turned rich and dark when stained to a gorgeous purple hue, reminding us of a legendary Mulberry tree (see below for design inspiration). The modern form has been beautifully completed with the lid ornament made of exotic wood and the subtle shine of our natural matt-finish.

- Maple wood is naturally very light in colour and in this urn it has been stained to a rich, deep purple hue. Mulberry tree’s fruit used to be white, but turned black after Pyramus and Thisbe (Babylonian Romeo and Juliet, if you like) agreed to meet under the tree. Pyramus took his own life under the impression that Thisbe lost hers, and when she realised this, she followed in his steps.
- Pyramus and Thisbe used to talk through a crack in the wall between their houses and that notion brought to mind our interactions with our friends lost to death.
- Pirouette is to do with both the multiple grooves featured in this design and circles in which we sometimes find ourselves walking in our thoughts.
